Noah Lambert – a leather wallet last a lifetime.

Noah Lambert proudly presents the first handcraft leather wallet to the world.

"Anywhere two pieces of material fastened together are most likely going to fall apart. That's why the simplest products are often the most durable. To ensure my wallets last a lifetime, I create each from a single piece of leather using only two seams." quoted by Noah Lambert based at USA.

The wallet is made of a single piece of 50z vegetable tanned bridle leather from Wickett & Craig of Pennsylvania, one of the nation's oldest and most respected tanneries. It might be a bit stiff when new, but it will get soften with use. After all, this is one of the billion reasons why we fancy leather goods so much, don't we?

The wallet is saddle stitched by hand using Barbour's Red Hand 5 cord linen thread to create a seam twice as durable as the common lock-stitch.

It is priced at $90 USD available at Noah Lambert's website. It takes up to two weeks for worldwide delivery.

 The  Handcraft Process

The craftsmen put insole, uppers and outsole together with single stitch lining. The sole is cut a lot closer to the upper which makes the design sleeker. Just by looking at the pictures, you still can't imagine how many time and efforts they put into it. The width of a sole around the upper varies hugely among Goodyear-welted shoes, but none of the are as thin as Blake-made models. They are just more delicate and will not last as long as Goodyear-welted shoes.

• Porcelain MMX is defiantly creating an elegant shoe and add definition to pretty darn hot.

In the mid of May 2011 , Porcelian MMX have launched a collection for SS/11 & for this July, Porcelain MMX add a new article titled "The Low-Cut Series" and brought the Cap-Toe Brogue model which is a complement of SS/11 collections. Made from quality material of nubuck, lamb skin for lining & insole, and also blended with high density EVA ( ethylene vinyl acetate ) wedges for outsole. Available in three colours : Black, Coffee, and Tan estimated priced at US 64.

Handcraft goods - Interview with Akiko of bRainbow

bRainbow is a handcraft store based in Sydney. It is founded by a sweet couple, Orrr is a graphic designer and a senior art director from Thai  and Akiko is a collaborator and mum of three months baby from Japan. They are fond of vintage, travelling and anything unexpected. They then decided to open a store at Etsy to present something unique to  everybody. They turn their streaks of creativity and imagination into their handmade products.

Mission

A rainbow always appears after the rain and makes people smile.

Inspiration

They are obsessed with flea markets ,treasure hunting, garage sales and junk sales to find what they really love. Travelling is another thing they enjoy a lot in experiencing different cultures and histories. They went to Europe last year visting many local flea markets, art galleries. The people and stuff there inspired them a lot.

Product Style

Orrr is the person behind our product style. He works as a senior art director at an advertising agency and he has been in the industry for over a decade. He always keeps up-to-date with the latest creative and design. Both of them love Japanese manga, old toys and books as you can see them from their studio. Those influence our style a lot!

Work Studio

The work studio is full of their collections. Orrr was so focus on his work.

Production Process

They do everything at the studio. They use classic materials such as leather, wood and acrylics to create what they are truly admired. They design, cut and piece wooden products together. The details of the wooden camera down below can tell there is a lot of time and effort to carve such a elegant piece. They also hand-stitch leather products like leather iPhone cases engraved with camera symbols.

NEW Products Coming Up

They have just created birdhouse necklace with little owl, which is the latest product. Now they're working on new clocks with different materials and busy in the process of making new jewelries with more girlie and colorful designs.

I would say bRainbow's handcraft is stunningly beautiful. Though I shouldn't buy anymore earrings (nah, just kidding ;-) ), I buy myself a nice pair of bird earrings.
